Mahalo to all those who called to urge me to flee the oncoming waters. No worries, though - I am more than a mile outside the evac zone.
That is, until California stops just dancing around and finally collapses into the Pacific - on that day, I promise that I will head for the top of one of our very tall mountains.

I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say I love it. It's not pretentious rambling on about intellectual thought (not that it isn't intelligent) I really feel like I get a sense of you from your writing and as a writer and want-to-be-blogger myself I really appreciate that. Keep doing what you do. You just made a difference to this person.
Wow! Thanks for such wonderful compliments! I hope that you will enjoy blogging as much as I have and that maybe someday you'll come back and leave a link to your blog.
My ability to live in Hawaii would have to be a rich husband as I could never afford to on my own limited resources. But I would sure like to be able to garden there, and grow anything and everything I wanted to, and wear mumus all the time for comfort. I gave up tight jeans when I passed 40 :
this is woderful blog.
